During my recent getaway at Douro Surf Hostel, I was pleasantly surprised by the perfect blend of surf, sun, and city exploration. Nestled just 300 meters from the charming Port Wine Cellars and the Douro River, it's an ideal base for those wanting to catch some waves while soaking in the vibrant culture of Vila Nova de Gaia. The vibe of the hostel was fantastic; I met some truly inspiring travelers and shared countless laughs over cups of coffee brewed conveniently in our shared kitchen. Dina and Eduarda, the lovely hosts, went above and beyond to ensure our stay was remarkable, sharing insider tips on the best local spots for surfing and wine tasting. Although my room had a cozy feel with individual lockers and reading lights, the common areas pulsated with warmth, making it easy to connect with fellow guests. It's not just a place to stay; it's a community. Even with minor cleaning hiccups, the superb location, comfy beds, and welcoming atmosphere made me eager to return. If you're after a soulful adventure in Porto with a touch of surf culture, look no further than Douro Surf Hostel-it's an experience you won't easily forget!
